Five Vineyards You Need to Know in Argentina.
This post about the five Vineyards you need to know in Argentina, is a way to give advice to my friends all over the world about a lot of things to do an to share here in Argentina, specially to those who joined us and also those who don´t.
As everybody know, Argentina is well know all around the world for our famous wines, so… Let’s go to the Cuyo Region
Now, let started the tour at the province of Mendoza, first by the zone of Luján de Cuyo witch is the most traditional, and in second place the Uco Valley.
Luján de Cuyo
Lujan de Cuyo is a Department placed at the west of Mendoza province, nearby Mendoza City.
It’s placed in the upper Mendoza valley, at the side of the river.
Altitudes around 1.000 meters.
The best grape is Malbec, and also Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Torrontes.
This is a very traditional zone of vineyards and wineries

Uco Valley
The Uco´s Valley is a valley placed at the north of Tunuyan river at the south west of the province, just nearby the Andes.
It’s one of the most important vineyard zone in the Argentinean Republic, cause of the high land (in between 900 an 1.200 meters over the sea), surrounded by mountains, with very “fertile” sole, combined with a sunny weather and no too many rain, makes this place proper for harvest really good grapes like Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo y PinotNoir, Chardonnay and SauvignonBlanc.
Bodegas Salentein
Ruta Provincial 89, Los Arboles de Villegas, Mendoza
The Salentein Winery ands Vineyards is placed at Uco´s Valley.
This vineyard was the first enterprise in this zone, witch as the times goes by grew up offering wines and lodges like the “Posada Salentein”.
San Juan
The next stop is the province of San Juan, at the east of Mendoza.
Bodegas Graffigna
Colón Norte, 1342, 5400, San Juan
This a traditional winery established in 1970 with so many vineyards spread around the Tulum Valley in the southern of the province of San Juan in the Department of Pocito, and also in “Cañada Honda” and “Pedernal” both in the Department of Sarmiento.
The vineyards are place in between 700 and 1.600 meters over the sea, and this fact is perfect to grow up a lot a different crops as follows:
Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are harvest at Pocito (600 meters).
Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Shiraz at harvest Cañada Honda (1200 meters)
Chardonnay, Cabernet, Malbec and Shiraz Valley (1400 meters)
The winery have a Museum when you can have a tour aroun the histoy of the winery, the wineyards, the earthquake of 1940 who destoy evething, but the family rebuild. You can also take a walk around the place to see the hole process, and have wine tasting.

It´s an old and small winery. It was the first boutique winery at San Juan.
